Kitchen Solvers of Corpus Christi Owner David Ellerd

David Ellerd has joined the Kitchen Solvers family and is looking forward to bringing the Pleasant Remodeling Experience to the Corpus Christi, Texas and surrounding areas! David will begin training in La Crosse, Wisconsin to learn about business operations, financing, marketing, sales, and installation. He is no stranger to business development and sales, but he has been looking for a business that he is passionate about. His drive to succeed, along with the support from the Kitchen Solvers Home Office and vendor partners, will allow him to develop and build his legacy!

Background

David has worked in the electrical and electronics field in various forms since high school. He served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician’s mate for over 10 years including in theater service during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After leaving the U.S. Navy, he became involved in the Audio Visual Services field as a freelance technician for about 2.5 years. He later began working at a local shipyard as an electrician on various projects including a dry-dock and car ferry for the state of Texas. He was recruited by an offshore oil services company to serve on one of the first dynamically positioned dual activity drill ships. The ship was in the final construction stages at a shipyard in the local area and later worked in the Gulf of Mexico establishing several performance milestones for the industry. He later transferred to a semi-submersible in Australia that was to transit to the Gulf of Mexico. The company changed plans with the rig, it remained in Australia and he was reassigned to another drill ship in the Gulf of Mexico. After 10 years with the company, he was approached about working on a new drill ship being constructed in South Korea and decided to pursue the opportunity. After construction, the drill ship made the transit and began operations in Brazil. He worked in Brazil on it for several years and was transferred to a semi-submersible operating in Malaysia and Indonesia. Due to a downturn in the offshore oil industry, he was laid off in 2016. Another oil services company recruited him to work on their state-of-the-art land rig program. After working several rigs for them, he was part of a layoff due to Covid-19 and oil industry downturn.

Hobbies/Interests

David has always enjoyed woodworking and home renovations. His wife and him have renovated several homes through the years. He also occasionally plays golf.

Why Kitchen Solvers

Through an associate on Linkedin, David was looking at franchises as a means of employment. Tom Sampson, FCC Consultant, showed him several options and opportunities, including Kitchen Solvers. He then began discussions with Emily Romero and liked what he saw in Kitchen Solvers.

He wanted to be an entrepreneur to be better involved in the outcomes of business, where his efforts could have a larger degree of control. He listens and relates to people, and always looks at situations from multiple angles to strive for the best outcome for all involved. This foundation will set him up for success as a Kitchen Solvers owner.

When asked what set Kitchen Solvers apart from the other opportunities, David responded, “Initially for me it was the knowledge that I have. I have remodeled several kitchens and understand a lot of aspects of what makes a kitchen functionally work. After meeting and discussing the franchise with Kitchen Solvers, I found myself with result-minded individuals that are open to ideas and have a similar drive to achieving great results. I also had a personal experience that the Kitchen Solvers team kept me in their prayers and well wishes. I could never repay the goodwill and encouragement that I received from them during one of the most difficult times of my life.”

David is most looking forward to helping families build an environment that will always bring joy in their memories. His operational experience, attention to detail, and passion for helping others will allow him to build a legacy as a part of the Kitchen Solvers family. The home office has already known David for some time now and knows he is a great cultural fit that will use his drive and passion to succeed.
